Got kids? Well I do and last Christmas I found the absolutely perfect beginner drone for them to use, the Syma X5SC. It has a range of roughly 150m from the controller, and is quite durable, which makes it great for beginners and kids alike due to the number of crashes, it features on battery which can be charged from practically and electronics device including iPad's.
It has a 2MP camera mounted to it for taking fantastic aerial shots, which is good fun with the kids as you can show them their pictures as they are saved to the 4GB SD card that comes with it.
On the whole because of its durability, and its ease of use this maybe the perfect drone for kids and beginner's alike.
If it does have one draw back it is the very short amount of time that the battery lasts for, as the longest I had it flying for was just over 8 minutes and by just over I mean a few seconds!
